Colin MacDonald is the Director of Geographic Information Services for the Province of Nova Scotia. Responsibilities include providing a corporate geomatics service across provincial government and the maintenance of key foundation geographic datasets for public use. He joined the Province in 2003 and has held a number of positions including Manager of Geographic Solutions, Manager of Enterprise Architecture, and Program Coordinator for Geographic Information Services before his accepting his current role.
Prior to working with the Province of Nova Scotia, Mr. MacDonald was the GIS Coordinator for the Ontario Provincial Police and he also managed a geomatics firm in South America.
He obtained a BSc. in Geology from Acadia University in 2001 and graduated from the Centre of Geographic Sciences (COGS) in 2003 with an Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems.
